The photo gallery is made up of a gallery introduction/directory page plus 1 to 30 individual photo exhibits.  Each exhibit can display one photo (standard or animated .gif, .jpg, or a virtual tour image created with "Photo Vista" virtual tour creator software).

Under each photo exhibit is a description text box.  When you first get your website, a photo gallery looks like this.

Gallery description textbox: This a one line text box.

Introductory page caption: The caption textbox of the 1st. exhibit will appear as the introductory caption for the gallery introduction/directory page.

Exhibit Photo Upload Select:  This is the control that allows you to select an image for each exhibit.  You can choose a previously uploaded image, or select to upload a new image.
IMPORTANT.  You must 1st properly size the images before you upload them to the website.  See image guidelines

New Image - Upload instructions - for standard .jpg, .gif or animated .gif images.
New Live Pic - Upload instructions - for Virtual Panoramas created with Live Picture's "Photo Vista" panorama creation program.-

Exhibit Description Text Box:  This is the text box used to describe the gallery list page and appears at the top of the page.  You are not limited to the amount of text you can insert in this area.  You can also enter simple HTML tags to spice up the page.
IMPORTANT - Use the 1st 20 characters, including spaces, of each exhibits description text box as a short reference about that photo exhibit.  If you need less than 20 characters, use spaces for the remainder of the characters.  Example - Front Yard (plus 10 spaces), then continue with... This home has a fantastic front yard.....

After the 1st 20 characters you can begin the full description for this photo exhibit.

Photo Preview thumbnail:   If the photo is not too large, you will be able to see a preview of the image.  This is a thumbnail only and will probably appear distorted.  The image will look fine after you publish and view it n the actual published gallery.

Add Exhibit Button:  Each  Gallery module starts with three active exhibits.  When you determine you need more exhibits, simply click the Add exhibit button.  A new exhibit will be added to the gallery.

Delete Exhibit Photo(s) Button:  If you no longer need a photo, use this button to show a list of all the photos in this gallery.  You can select which photos to delete.  This saves server space and can improve the functionally of your site.

General Gallery Description Text Box:  This is the text box  used to describe the gallery as a whole.  It remains constant as the exhibit photos change.  You are not limited to the amount of text you can insert in this area.  You can also enter simple HTML tags to spice up the page.
See Advanced Tips.

Exhibit Sorting Selector:  Use this control to change the order the exhibits appear on this page.   Simply select the position you want this exhibit to appear.  After you update the gallery will be in the new order you chose.

You can also "Inactivate" an exhibit by selecting  "Inactive" from this control. You can re-activate an exhibit at any time by assigning an order position.  Once a gallery has been created, it cannot be deleted, however you can deactivate it or reuse it for something else.  It is generally faster to reuse a old exhibit than to create a new one.

Deactivate/Deleting Exhibits: You can  "Inactivate" an exhibit by selecting  "Inactive" from the Exhibit Sorting Selector (see above): You can re-activate an exhibit at any time by assigning an order position.  Once a exhibit has been created, it cannot be deleted.  You can deactivate it or reuse it.  It is generally faster to reuse a old exhibit than to create a new one.

Exhibit Caption: The exhibit caption will appear under the exhibit photo.  Each exhibit has its own caption.  This is a one line text box and should be only a few words.

Theme Color: You can also choose from a number of different Theme Colors for any Gallery.  The theme color does not have to be the same for each exhibit in your website.

Preview your changes:  You can at any time preview your changes by clicking on the  Update button.  To continue editing after you have selected update, simply again select Edit Main Section from the dropdown box on the Editor Main Toolbar.

Publish your changes:  Once you are satisfied with your page, click on the update button again to get to the preview screen.   Once there, click on the flashing Publish button.

Cancel:  If you decide that you don't want to keep any of the changes you have made, click on the Cancel button. ImportantSelecting the Cancel button will cancel all changes you have made since the last time you Published, not just the changes in the Gallery.

Publish process.  The publish process makes the changes to your actual website.  You will know when the process is finished because you will no longer see the Publish button.  Instead you will see a Home button.  You can click on the Home button to see the true website to review you changes.

If you want to continue with editing your site, just hit your back button until you are again at the Main Editor Page.   It is a good idea to click  the browser's refresh button before you continue editing.
