Advanced Tips and Tricks

Simple HTML codes to spice up your Website- (See exceptions).

Throughout your website you may want a  more control of the text layout and formatting.  These simple tags have been tested and are safe to use in your Remote Control Website.

Note: Not all HTML codes are tested and many require special variations to work properly in your Remote Control website. Some can actually cause damage.  If you choose to experiment, you may be charged to make repairs.

This reference page will grow so check back often.  If you would like to request an addition be made to this chart, click here.

(Attn: HTML Pro's) It may look like there are missing quotation marks (") and/or quotation marks in the wrong places, however the nature of the Remote Control design requires special variations.   Use the text exactly as indicated below. The Remote Control website allows you to insert  HTML into many scrolling text boxes. Remember, if you are writing your own code, this site requires slight variations to standard HTML.  The most notable are no spaces between HTML tags. The Remote Control Editor will add a <br> any place it finds a space.  You will have to go back in and remove every <br> after you have done the update and then update again.

<b>Bold</b> Line
Break - Use the ENTER key on your keyboard.  When you update you will see a <br> has been added.  You cannot add a <br> command directly so use   ENTER.

Adding Columns to a Web Page
2 Columns | 3 Columns | 4 Columns

In order to add columns to a web page, you must use a "Table".  A table has "Rows" and "Columns" and the "Borders" can be visible or invisible.  Below are examples of both.

The Remote Control website allows you to insert Table HTML into many scrolling text boxes, Remember, if you are writing your own code, this site requires slight variations to standard HTML.  The most notable are no quote marks (") within HTML tags or any spaces between HTML tags. The Remote Control Editor will add a <br> any place it finds a space.  You will have to go back in and remove every <br> after you have done the update and then update again.

Visible Borders- two rows and two columns:

Row 1, Column 1 Text Row 1 Column 2 Text
New Row Column 1 Text New Row Column 2 Text

Copy and Paste the code below into a text box in your Remote Control site.  Be careful to copy exactly.  Once you have inserted the code and updated to verify it worked correctly, you may replace the text.  You may also change the column width % as long as they add up to 100%

<table border=1 width=98% cellpadding=2><tr><td width=50% valign=top align=left><font face=Arial size=1 color=#000000>Row 1, Column 1 Text</font></td><td width=50% valign=top align=left><font face=Arial size=1 color=#000000>Row 1 Column 2 Text</font></td></tr><tr><td valign=top align=left><font face=Arial size=1 color=#000000>New Row Column 1 Text</font></td><td valign=top align=left><font face=Arial size=1 color=#000000>New Row Column 2 Text</font></td></tr></table>

To add an additional row -

1)  Find  this code at the end of your table.

</tr></table>

2)  Copy the code below, EXACTLY!

<tr><td valign=top align=left><font face=Arial size=1 color=#000000>New Row Column 1 Text</font></td><td valign=top align=left><font face=Arial size=1 color=#000000>New Row Column 2 Text</font></td></tr>
